1- How are international students accepted to your university?
Applications can be submitted online through the International Student Application module for up to 10 (ten) programs between the dates specified in the academic calendar for international students.
2- When do international student applications begin at Malatya Turgut Özal University?
Applications generally open near or after the end of the academic year. You can check the Malatya Turgut Özal University International Student Office website for application dates.
3- What is the language of instruction?
The language of instruction is Turkish. Students who do not speak Turkish are required to take Turkish language courses (TÖMER) after enrolling at our university. Additionally, some departments offer 30% instruction in English. For example, in departments such as English Translation and Interpreting, proficiency in the relevant language is mandatory.
4- Can you provide information about the annual tuition fee?
Tuition fees are updated annually according to the Presidential Decree. Click here for the 2024-2025 academic year tuition fees.
5- How to obtain a visa?
Applicants who are successful in their application must apply to Turkish missions abroad with their approved acceptance letters and other documents, which they can obtain through the application system.
7- What is a Residence Permit? How do I obtain one?
The maximum duration you can stay in Turkey with a visa is three months. After three months, you must obtain a residence permit. All international students must apply for a residence permit within one month of entering Turkey. Documents related to residence permit procedures are submitted by universities to the Provincial Migration Administration. However, obtaining the necessary documents is the student's responsibility. Students applying for residence for the first time must complete the designated form and bring the required documents to the International Student Office. The Office will set a timetable for this and send the documents to the Malatya Governorate Provincial Migration Administration within this timeframe.
Students will receive a residence permit covering the duration of their studies in Turkey, as specified in their student visas, and they must carry this document with them at all times.
8- How is health insurance obtained?
All international students who will study in Turkey must apply for insurance with a written application to the Social Security Institution Provincial Health Directorate within three months of their university enrollment date. Students who fail to apply to the Provincial Health Directorate with a written application within this period will not be eligible for this benefit again during their studies.
9- Are there any scholarship opportunities for international students?
Our university does not provide any scholarship opportunities. However, our students can benefit from special scholarship opportunities at their own discretion.
10- Does Malatya Turgut Özal University administer the Foreign Student Exam (YÖS)?
The YÖS exam will no longer be administered starting from the 2024-2025 academic year.
11- Are YÖS exams administered by other universities valid?
No. Only the TRYÖS, a centralized exam administered by ÖSYM, is valid.
12- What criteria are taken into consideration when evaluating applications?
Admission to Malatya Turgut Özal University requires passing the exams specified in the MTÜ International Student Admission Guidelines.
13- What are the dormitory facilities?
Our university does not have a dormitory. However, there are many public and private dormitories located throughout the city.
