History
The International Student Office of Malatya Turgut Özal University was established on March 4, 2020, by a decision of the University Senate. The primary purpose of the office is to efficiently manage the application, admission, registration, and educational processes of international students in line with the university's internationalization goals.
The office first admitted international students in 2020 based on various national and international exam results and graduation grades. With the inaugural MTÜ-YÖS (Malatya Turgut Özal University Foreign Student Examination) held on July 10, 2021, the universi-ty's international student admission process became more systematic and institutionalized. The office independently conducted the YÖS exam twice in 2021 and 2022, and in 2023, it organized a joint YÖS exam in collaboration with İnönü University.
Starting from 2024, international student admissions are carried out by considering the TR-YÖS conducted by the ÖSYM (Student Selection and Placement Center), along with international and national exam results and graduation grades specified in the guide-lines. Additionally, the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB), under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, has been placing international students at our university since 2023.
Since its establishment, the number of international students has consistently increased, enhancing cultural diversity and academic richness at our university with students from various countries. Today, the International Student Office aims to strengthen the universi-ty's global recognition by improving guidance, information, and social integration activi-ties for international students.
